Terms and Conditions



These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) apply to all orders placed with Joan’s Ironing Service (“we”, “us”, “our”) via our website, phone, text message or email. By placing an order, you agree to be bound by these Terms. We reserve the right to update these Terms at any time, and the latest version published on our website will apply to your order.


1. Orders and Cancellations

  • We may cancel or decline an order if:
    • An event beyond our control prevents us from fulfilling it;
    • Items are not made available for collection at the agreed time;
    • Items do not match your order, are excessively dirty or wet, are damaged or are otherwise unsuitable for ironing.
  • Failure to cancel your order before the agreed collection may result in a $55.00 minimum service fee being charged.


2. Pricing and Minimum Charges

  • Pricing is outlined on our website and may change without notice.
  • A minimum charge of $55.00 applies per collection, regardless of item quantity.


3. Payment Terms

  • An invoice will be issued once ironing is completed.
  • We reserve the right to withhold returned items until full payment is received.
  • Payment methods accepted: Credit Card, Debit Card, Direct Debit (via the payment link in your invoice), or cash.
  • A merchant fee may apply to card or direct debit payments. Alternative payment methods may incur an administration fee.
  • If payment is not made by the due date, we may charge interest at a rate of 15% per annum on overdue amounts.
  • You agree to pay all costs incurred by us in recovering unpaid amounts and indemnify us against any resulting losses.


4. Collection and Delivery

  • If we are unable to complete delivery due to lack of access, a $10.00 redelivery fee may be charged.
  • You are responsible for ensuring that any items left unattended for collection or delivery are secure. We accept no liability for loss or damage in such cases.


5. Service Limitations and Care Instructions

  • We do not offer stain removal. Items are ironed as presented.
  • If your items require special care or handling, you must notify us in advance. We will handle such items at your risk unless agreed otherwise in writing.
  • Advice or information we provide is offered in good faith, based on the details you provide.


6. Damage, Loss, and Liability

  • We are not liable for damage to or loss of items after delivery.
  • We are not responsible for loss or damage that occurs during the collection, ironing, or delivery process unless caused by proven negligence.
  • Our total liability for any loss or damage, where we are at fault, is limited to the lesser of $50 per order or the replacement cost of the item.
  • We are not liable for any loss of profit, business interruption, or other indirect losses.


7. Service Guarantee

  • If you are not satisfied with our service, you must notify us within 24 hours of delivery. At our discretion, we may offer a re-iron, credit, or refund.


8. Privacy

  • We respect your privacy. Personal information you provide is used solely for providing our services. We do not sell or share your data with third parties, except where necessary to deliver our service or comply with legal requirements.


9. Changes to Terms

  • We may update these Terms at any time. The current version will be published on our website. Continued use of our services confirms your acceptance of any changes.


10. Dispute Resolution

  • If a dispute arises, you must notify us in writing, specifying the issue, the outcome sought, and any proposed steps to resolve it. Both parties will work in good faith to resolve the matter through negotiation.


11. Legal and General

  • These Terms constitute the full agreement between you and Joan’s Ironing Service and supersede all prior agreements.
  • We may assign or transfer our rights or obligations under these Terms without your consent.
  • If any clause in these Terms is found to be invalid, the remaining provisions remain in full force.
  • No waiver of any right under these Terms is effective unless in writing.
  • These Terms are governed by the laws of Australia, and disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of Australian courts.
